About Living Blue
Living Blue Best of Bangladesh
Living Blue stands for high-quality, hand-made products made by artisans in Bangladesh, based on optimum technical recall, and meant for high-end markets. It is about fair trade where the artisans not only get a fair wage, but also contribute to the general well-being of local communities and help to create sustainable social, cultural, and economic life. Living Blue, now the largest producer of Bengal indigo, is of the highest quality. This comes from indigofera tinctoria, in dictionary terms “true indigo”. The natural indigo, the blue gold, is an offer from Bangladesh to the world – the best of Bangladesh.
Living Blue Dyeing
Living Blue is a dream, stitched and dyed, made for a lifetime by women and men of high craftsmanship and dignity. Our atelier is in Rangpur, Bangladesh, inside a small farming village named Goalpara (pronounced: go-al-para). The setup is an architectural beauty made of local bamboo. In addition to our main workshop, our artisans work out of six villages spread throughout the northern districts in Bangladesh.
